“Traveling for the Job”
Traveling on the job is exciting and rewarding, just as much as it is exhausting. From this last shoot, I worked 12+ hour days: wheels up at 7:20am, shooting at numerous locations before lunch at 1pm, then more shooting until 7pm when we would break for dinner.
After, we would shoot time lapses of the downtown area until after sunset, typically 9:30pm. Though our official wrap time would be when the camera is put away, we still had to clean our equipment, prep for the next day, and review footage. Sleep was welcome after 11:30pm, though it doesn’t give enough time to decompress and relax (read a book, watch the news) before waking up for the next day of work.
